College Alumni Page
Get
in touch with your school on the Internet.
Practically all colleges/universities now have Web
sites and most of them include pages oriented toward
alumni. We have links to most of the college
and university Web sites. If your school is
not on our lists and you do not know the Uniform
Resource Locator (URL), i.e., the Web address, you could try guessing
what it is and see whether that gets you to their Web
site. Usually, it will be in this format: www.schoolabreviation.edu.
For example, Ohio State University's URL
is www.osu.edu, preceded, of course, by
the protocol prefix, http://. However,
this approach may not work if the school's format for
their URL deviates from this pattern.
So, here's another approach. Follow one of the
following links to a Web site containing links to many
college and university Web sites.
-
The University of Texas maintains
a comprehensive Web site listing of U.S.
universities organized by
state or in alphabetical
order, and branch campuses are sometimes
included. Community college Web sites are
also available by
state or in alphabetical
order.
-
Yahoo!
has links to colleges and university Web sites and
allows you to choose from the following
categories:

Find
many alumni oriented web sites by using the
Google search box below, using alumni as the
keyword:
Making
a career change: The career
services office at your alma mater may provide
services to alumni as well as current students.
It may be worth your inquiry. A visit to the
school's Web site is likely to provide the
answer. If not, you might still want to contact them
via mail, phone, etc.
Many of the Web sites to which we have
links from our page for Jobs and
Careers (under the caption Preparing for, and
making, the transition to life after college) pertain
to both persons with years of experience as well as
for new graduates. For these links, we
deliberately searched for career oriented Web sites
which included new graduates. Conversely,
we did not include certain Web sites which seemed
exclusively, or mostly, focused on more experienced
job seekers. If you would like to see some
additional links to career resources on the Internet
in CollegiateWorld, let us know by using our feedback
form. Indeed, the Internet has become a very
significant way to explore employment opportunities.
