CollegiateWorld has created
this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm
commitment to privacy. The following discloses our policy
concerning the safeguarding of your privacy related to
information gathered or received by us via our Web site.
We will not provide persons
or organizations outside our company any personal data such
as name, address, phone number, e-mail address, credit card
numbers, or any other personal data. Any personal data
received by us from you will only be used for identification
and contact purposes and/or for statistical analysis and
compilation of demographic information to be used by us for
internal purposes.
At such time in the future
that we begin selling products online, credit card account
numbers entered into our product order form - not yet
developed - will only be transmitted in encrypted format
using the technology known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL).
It is the technology used by the vast majority of businesses
taking online orders today and ensures that, in the event
the transmission of this data is intercepted by unauthorized
persons before it reaches us, it can not be interpreted.
You can tell whether your Web browser is configured for SSL,
in two ways. If you are using Internet Explorer, you
will see a little image of lock at the bottom edge of your
browser screen. For general Web browsing, this lock
will appear as unlocked. But, when you access a Web
page where credit card data is to be entered to make an
online purchase, the lock will change to a locked position.
Recent versions of Netscape Navigator also have the lock
symbol, located at the lower left corner of your browser
screen. The second sign you will see to confirm you
have entered the encrypted mode is, with both Internet
Explorer and Netscape Navigator, the first four letters you
normally see in the web address box, http,
will change to https.
The s indicates your browser is
recognizing, and working in, the SSL mode.
Regarding e-mail, we may use e-mail on a
selective basis to promote CollegiateWorld. We
will track our usage of promotional e-mail to avoid sending
frequent messages to the same recipients, and we will
endeavor to honor any requests not to be contacted again by
e-mail. As indicated above in the second
paragraph, we will not sell or rent e-mail lists. Of
course, if we receive a request from you for notification by
e-mail of upcoming events, then we will endeavor to respond
to that request in order to better serve you as a customer
or prospective customer.
If you have questions concerning privacy
for which you would like further elaboration from us, please
use our feedback form or call
740-927-6491.
